Today while I was at Nikki’s on a photoshoot, Marky D. Sade wrote me a really lovely love letter. It’s truly intimate, a glimpse into our lives.

When I met you I was pathetic. I was composed almost solely of artifice, arrogance, and fear. I was a mere creature. Then we met, and you treated me with kindness, respect, and (very quickly) love. I remember you asking me to move in. I couldn’t believe that anyone would ever, ever, want to be with me, much less live with me. You looked upon me with empathy, and compassion… not pity. You gave me a home, and a family. I was still self centered, arrogant, and ultimately, clueless. You loved me still. More than that, you said that I helped you. I gave you strength throughout your divorce. I gave you strength to go to grad school. You are my everything. You gave me a baby of my own, with a nose, and toes, and pure love bubbling from her core.

I have a hard time writing without dwelling on my faults, for they are numerous. I’ve never tried harder to be a better man. I never thought I could be. You make me yearn to improve… to deserve you, and to redeem myself for my past action, or inaction.

I can hold you in the cup of my hand, my little pocket Venus. You’re perfection for me.

I love you with all my being. You are truly my soulmate. You are the single most impressive person I’ve ever met. Your potential is unlimited, and your intellect is enormous… and you love me. You’re the most beautiful woman in the world, and the best lover ever… and you love me.

I will spend forever trying to deserve you.
